NHL 09: Zdeno Chara is Tall (and Boston Wins the Cup)
EA Sports recently ran its simulation of the 2009 Stanley Cup playoffs and determined that the Boston Bruins will beat the Chicago Blackhawks to take home the team's sixth Stanley Cup, and their first since 1972. That's all well and good–despite being complete and utter horse poop. Everyone knows the Sharks are the team of destiny this year. Presidents' Trophy, wut?!
The real story from EA Sports' fake playoffs is this screenshot:
Look at Zdeno Chara (right in the middle). Dude is leaning on one knee and he's still nearly as tall as the guys on the back row. I still don't understand how anyone who is 6'9″ can even stand up on skates, much less be the captain of a playoff-bound team.
Can you imagine if Chara was bearing down on you at full speed with the Redwood tree he calls a hockey stick and malice in his heart? I think I'd make a mess in my hockey shorts right then and there…
