Sony refreshes entry-level DSLR line, adds new kit lenses
Sony has announced updated replacements for its A200, A300, and A350 Alpha-series digital SLRs. All three of the new cameras feature compact, lightweight bodies, in-camera SteadyShot image stabilization, and 2.7″ LCD screens, as well as a specially designed on-screen settings display aimed at new DSLR users. Sony has also added a series of inexpensive, compact lenses with built-in focusing motors and a compact flash unit to complement the line-up.
The budget A230 model differs little from its predecessor. It retains the same 10.2 megapixel APS-C size sensor, sensitive up to ISO 3200, as well as the 230,400 pixel, 2.7″ LCD screen. The main difference appears to be about 0.4oz shaved from the weight and the new 18-55mm kit lens.
